DARCY & DAN ANDREWS

I have been involved in rescue since I was a kid, I used to bring home strays and then make my parents raise them.  My first foster failure was a kitten when I was about 10 years old and I solemnly told the potential adopters that the kitten had fleas. Since then, over the last 13 years I have been involved with rescue for all the small flat-faced breeds – Pugs, Pekingese, French Bulldogs and English Bulldogs, as well as Min Pins!  I love ALL dogs, but I am extremely partial to these little Emo dogs called  Frenchies.

I have a very patient and wonderful husband, Dan, and an amazing teenage son, Spencer. The three of us are the “kennel help” for the rude little people in fur coats that allow us to care for them and that usually give us love in return.

We have three dogs.  My Pekingese, Zeke, is 10 years old.  He is my heart, we are very attached to one another.  Sparkle is a French Bulldog, she is 4.5 years old. She is a beautiful girl but very jealous and pouts a lot when she is not getting her way, which is most of the time.  She is our princess.  She is a toughie that has no idea what size she is, once she went after a Rottweiler at the beach!  We adopted Otis from rescue, he is a 2.5 year old Frenchie/Boston mix.  He was 14 months old when we got him, and we were his fourth family!  Poor guy had a rough start in life. Otis is very large at 35 lbs, we call him our “Monster Puppy” as he has a perpetual puppy craziness about him.  Otis is very smart but also very nutty, we promised him we would love him and keep him forever, and he’s finally beginning to believe us.

We also have a pet ferret that we adopted from ferret rescue.  She is amazingly cuddly and sweet.  We have three cats, a rescue and two strays that arrived as kittens and have never left.

We live in Portland, Oregon and foster anyone that needs a  loving home while they are in transition.
